Roof waterproofing is a fundamental procedure in building and maintaining structures, preventing water leakage into the surfaces. This process is of great importance due to the numerous benefits it offers, ranging from protection against damage to ensuring health and sustainability.
What are the types of waterproofing materials for roofs?
1- Max: It is a waterproofing material composed of liquid and powder cement-based compounds that are mixed to form a flexible waterproof mixture, preventing water leakage even under the most challenging conditions. It is used for both old and new interior and exterior surfaces, this product achieves the European standard EN 14891.
Specifications of Max:
- A flexible mixture formed at low temperatures, reaching freezing point.
- High adhesive strength exceeding 1 Newton/mm².
- Resistant to cracking.
- Can withstand positive pressure (facing water from the front) up to 7 bars.
- Can withstand negative pressure (facing water from the behind) up to 2.5 bars.
- Easy application using a roller.
- Quick drying.
- Coat porosity permits surface-breathability and permeability when applied to allow vapors out.
2- RSS: A cement-based (powder) waterproofing material used for both old and new interior and exterior surfaces. It works on the principle of charge repulsion and this product achieves the European standard EN 14891.
Specifications of RSS:
- A breathable cement-based waterproofing material.
- Resistant to various weather conditions, from freezing temperatures to high heat, as well as marine humidity, vapor, and moisture.
- Water repellent from both the inside and outside, even under compressive stresses of up to 10 meters (1 bar).
- Adequate drying time to ensure successful adhesion.
