Quds Tile Grout 101 and 201 | The Difference Between Them and the Best Way to Fill Gaps Between Ceramic and Porcelain Tiles
Tile grout is considered one of the most important elements of final finishing. It does not only give tiles a harmonious and elegant appearance, but also plays a key role in protecting joints from moisture, dirt, and cracks, ensuring a longer lifespan for tiled floors and walls.
Quds Paints offers two main types of tile grout: QTG 101 and QTG 201, each developed to suit different environments and applications, whether for indoor or outdoor use.

What Is Tile Grout and Why Is It Used?
Tile grout is a cement-based powder mixed with water and used to fill the gaps (joints) between:
◉ Ceramic tiles
◉ Porcelain tiles
◉ Glazed tiles
Its importance lies in:
✅ Preventing water and moisture leakage
✅ Protecting tile edges from chipping and damage
✅ Enhancing the final aesthetic appearance
✅ Increasing the lifespan of tiles
✅ Reducing dirt and bacteria buildup between joints

What Is the Difference Between Quds Tile Grout 101 and 201?
The main difference between the two types lies in the area of use and level of resistance:
● Grout 101 is designed for indoor use and is an ideal choice for standard areas such as kitchens, indoor bathrooms, and floors not continuously exposed to water.
● Grout 201 is engineered to withstand harsh conditions. It is water-repellent and suitable for outdoor use, swimming pools, and high-moisture areas, making it the best option for porcelain tiles.
👉 The higher the moisture level or exposure to weather conditions, the more recommended it is to choose Quds Tile Grout 201.
Filling Gaps Between Ceramic and Porcelain Tiles: Which Is More Suitable?
● In standard indoor areas such as rooms, kitchens, and residential bathrooms, Quds Tile Grout 101 can be relied upon.
● In outdoor areas, locations continuously exposed to water, or when using porcelain tiles, it is recommended to use Quds Tile Grout 201 due to its high resistance to water and weather conditions.
Important Tips for Best Results
✅ Use the mixture within two hours of mixing
✅ Do not add water to the mixture after it starts to set
✅ Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C
✅ Clean tiles immediately after grouting to avoid stain formation
